Engaged Road Trip

Two figures bike away from the camera, each waving their left arm goodbye. The first figure is wearing a multicolored dress and the second a nice shirt and pants. Their bikes have streamers and balloons, for they were just married.

Think back on your most memorable road trip.

OK, then what?

Sorry to be a pill, but it says think not write about. And if I’m going to put in effort, it would be nice of the prompts to do so as well. All of my best road trips have been with Jake. My favorite road tripe was a bike trip around the Loire valley to a few castles. There’s something about biking that is so much more united with the environment around you, and I really appreciate that. Obviously, you don’t have steel and glass between you and the surroundings. The air smells fresher, you are going slower and have more time to notice details of the trip. I long to take a similar trip with my family now. Put the kids in carriages behind a bike and camp along the way. But then I’d also like for them to remember it more, so it’s ok that we haven’t done anything like that, or even really been able to do practice runs. Everything unfolds in its own time. Kind of like a memorable trip. 🙂

The author and her husband bike away from their wedding ceremony. This is obviously another well-loved bike trip we took together.
