I love/hate the cold. I love cozying up. I love warm blankets at night. I love the weight of them. I sleep better. But I don’t particularly love being cold. I do love hibernating and the rhythm of the seasons. I grew up in Florida, and flew north as soon as I could. I could never make a move that far south again.
Knitting is easier in cool weather. Over the summer, I naturally gravitate to cottons/sewing. I don’t love knitting with cotton, but I’ll do it.

My favorite knits are all for cold weather, and I think that says enough about how I feel about cold weather. So here’s a photo entry for this day’s prompt.
All these knits are by me. There’s a selection: lots of hats, a few scarves/cowls, a short-sleeve cardi that my baby wouldn’t pose for (surprise surprise), two socks, and some hanks that will become the family’s Christmas stockings. Oh! And some mittens I once made for baby Theo, and a barely-fitting pair of cotton shorts for baby girl.
My next project is for people having babies, so no sneak-peaks, unfortunately. I actually have it ready to go next to me, so until next time! Being an artist is about how you live and create, it’s not about what you create. And I consider this all a part of my creative life. 🙂
